Christine M. Callahan, Esq. Associate Attorney

Like a gust off of Lake Michigan, Chicago native Christine M. Callahan is a breath of fresh air. A committed Minnesotan since 1991, she's a graduate of St. Thomas School of Law with a breadth experience in arbitrations, negotiations, hearings, depositions and preparing and defending discovery. She's also been a business owner and a teacher.

"Christine is an entrepreneur at heart – creative, energized by complexity, resolute in the pursuit of a goal – these are characteristics necessary to our firm's results-oriented approach to divorce and family law," says Marilyn J. Michales.

Callahan started her legal career as an attorney with Minneapolis-based insurance defense firm Cronan, Pearson and Quinlivan P.A., where she gained experience in case investigation, preparation and representation for trial, arbitration and mediation. In 2007, she founded Callahan Law LLC, with an emphasis on personal injury, wrongful death and dramshop cases for both plaintiffs and defense. She performed contract appellate work and writing for her prior firm and other clients and began working in family law, her true passion.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Callahan had a successful 15-year career in adult education management and teaching, specializing in business communication and writing.

"What I like about practicing family law is the opportunity to be a strong advocate and legal counselor for my clients, helping them to resolve their cases with more dignity and less vitriol," says Callahan who joined the firm because of the founder's reputation as "an attorney who works tenaciously on behalf of her clients and is also highly regarded among her peers."

Callahan continues, "It's important to understand both sides of the issues in order to pinpoint areas of contention, as well as common ground, a perspective my experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants has given me. I'm committed to using my skills as an analyst and communicator to help clients settle their case efficiently. Of course, if trial is the only or best option, we know what has to be done and we'll be prepared."

When not practicing law, Callahan enjoys her three sons' sporting events and, when time allows, can be found on the golf course during the warmer months and skiing the Rocky Mountains come snowfall.
